    US/Canadian Officers Dinner

    The US & Canadian Military Friendship dinner, the 58th, will be held this year at the Polish American Cultural Center, Troy, starting at 6:30PM with a reception. A recent (2016) recipient of the Congressional Medal of Honor, Retired U.S. Army Lt. Colonel Charles Kettles, will be the keynote speaker and share his insights on aviation and ground combat experienced as a Vietnam helicopter pilot. "This colorful event is filled with military traditions, music and pageantry," said LTC. Charles Thornell, U.S. Army Retired, the Chair of this year's event. "The 126th Army Band will perform military and dance music; a Scottish piper in full regalia will pipe in the color guard; and vibrant military dress uniforms of the American and Canadian forces will be worn.     Southfield VFW 2645 is hosting its monthly Spaghetti Dinner social from 5 till 7PM at the post, 24222 W 9 Mile, Southfield, entrance at the rear of the building. $7 for one full spaghetti dinner, plus one 2nd portion of spaghetti with garlic bread!     USCG Festival Grand Parade

    The Meijer Grand Parade is a highpoint of the annual Grand Haven Coast Guard Festival. In the 2-hour parade you'll see marching bands, clowns, military units, local sports teams, dignitaries and many other groups.

    Nearly 100,000 people attend and line the streets of "Coast Guard City, USA" to show their appreciation for the valuable service that the men and women of the United States Coast Guard provide to all of us each and every day

    Freedom Center Golf Outing

    The Metro Airport Freedom Center is hosting a golf outing at the Selfridge Golf Course, Hall Rd, Harrison Twp, with an 8AM best ball scramble. Cost is $100 per person ($380 foursome), lunch & Deli Sandwich Bar. Watch the Thunderbirds practice while you golf.
